  • 1/2 cup Bourbon For a non-alcoholic version, substitute with apple juice.
  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce Use low-sodium soy sauce if preferred.
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced) Add more for extra flavor if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger (grated) Fresh ginger enhances taste.
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar Adjust sweetness to your taste.
  • 2 tablespoons Green onions (for garnish) Adds fresh flavor and color.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season according to preference.

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
  2. Place the chicken thighs in your crock pot and pour the bourbon mixture evenly over the meat.
  3. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Cooking
  1. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours, until the chicken is tender and easily shredded.
  2. Once cooked, serve the bourbon chicken garnished with fresh, sliced green onions.

Notes
