Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1.5 - 2 pounds chicken wings, split into drumettes and flats
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or any neutral oil)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (smoked or sweet) based on preference
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder (aluminum-free, optional for extra crispiness)

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by patting the chicken wings very dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the wings with olive oil.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Mix well and then toss the wings with the seasoning until evenly coated.
  4. Set your air fryer to preheat at 380°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned wings in a single layer inside the air fryer basket.
  6. Cook the wings at 380°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, making sure to flip them halfway through the cooking time.
  7. If desired, increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) for the last 3-5 minutes to achieve extra crispy skin.
  8. Ensure the wings are golden brown and have reached an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safe eating.
  9. Remove the wings from the air fryer and serve them immediately, with your choice of sauce if desired.
