Preparation of Prosciutto
- In a skillet over medium heat, add the prosciutto and cook until crispy, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
Cooking Orzo
- In the same skillet, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the orzo, stirring to coat in the butter.
- Pour in the broth and bring to a simmer. Cook orzo for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until al dente.
Making it Creamy
- Reduce heat to low, add heavy cream, and stir in the green peas and Parmesan. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serving
- Plate the creamy orzo and top with the crispy prosciutto. Garnish with fresh thyme or a sprinkle of red pepper flakes if desired.
