Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 16 oz whole button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large oven-safe skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Cooking

  • Stir in heavy cream, parmesan, salt, and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add the whole mushrooms and stir to coat evenly in the sauce.
  • Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and the sauce is bubbly.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftover mushrooms in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet over low heat, adding cream if the sauce has thickened. For added flavor, consider incorporating herbs like thyme or rosemary.
