Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 3-4 large Cucumbers (peeled, sliced)
  • 1 Sweet onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 1.5 cups Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dried dill or fresh dill 1 tablespoon fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • Kosher salt To taste

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, toss the sliced cucumbers and onions with salt. Cover and let them sit for 15–30 minutes.
  • Transfer the mixture to a colander and drain, stirring occasionally until most moisture is gone (about 15–30 minutes).

Make the Dressing

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, vinegar, sugar, dill, garlic powder, and pepper until smooth.

Combine & Chill

  • Add the drained cucumbers and onions to the dressing. Stir to coat evenly. Taste and adjust salt if needed.

Chill & Serve

  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, swap half the mayo for Greek yogurt or add a handful of chopped fresh herbs for extra brightness. Make sure to drain the cucumbers well to keep the salad from becoming watery. For added flavor, consider using smoked paprika or a dash of hot sauce in the dressing. Feel free to experiment with different herbs like parsley or chives for a unique twist.
