Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb lean ground beef Substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • 8 oz medium pasta shells
  • 1 cup heavy cream Can be substituted with half-and-half or a non-dairy alternative.
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the pasta shells in salted boiling water until al dente. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion and minced garlic until the beef is fully cooked, then drain excess fat.
Cooking
  1. Pour in the beef broth and sprinkle in the Italian seasoning. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in the heavy cream, reduce heat, and let simmer on low for another 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
  3. Fold in the cooked pasta shells, ensuring they are well-coated with the creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve hot, garnished with extra Italian seasoning if desired.
