Ingredients

For the filling
  • 6 oz 6 oz. can white crab meat (drained)
  • 6 oz 6 oz. cream cheese (softened) Make sure it is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1/4 tsp 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
For assembly and frying
  • 20 pieces 20 wonton wrappers
  • Water For sealing the wonton wrappers.
  • 2 cups About 2 cups vegetable oil For frying the Rangoons.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and powdered sugar. Stir well until the mixture is smooth.
  2. Gently fold in the drained crab meat, being careful not to break it apart too much.
  3. Take one wonton wrapper and place a tablespoon of the crab mixture in the center.
  4. Brush a small amount of water on all four edges of the wonton wrapper.
  5. Pinch the corners together, sealing them completely to avoid any leakage during frying.
Frying
  1. In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Carefully fry the wontons for about 1-2 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown.
  3. Once cooked, allow them to cool on a paper towel to absorb any excess oil.
