Ingredients

  • - ½ pound bacon
  • - 1 pound ground beef
  • - 1 small onion chopped
  • - 2 15 ounce cans baked beans with pork
  • - ⅓ cup barbecue sauce
  • - 1 7.5 ounce package refrigerated biscuit dough

Equipment

  • - Skillet or Dutch oven

Method

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat until evenly browned. Drain, and cut into bite-size pieces. Set aside.
  2. Add ground beef and chopped onion to the skillet, and cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in the cooked bacon, baked beans, and barbecue sauce into the ground beef mixture. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
  4. Place the refrigerated biscuit dough in a single layer over the top of the mixture.
  5. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the biscuits are cooked through.
  6. Serve by placing two biscuits on each plate and spooning the beans over them.

Notes

- You can customize this casserole by adding shredded cheese on top of the biscuits during the last few minutes of cooking.
- Feel free to adjust the amount of barbecue sauce to suit your taste preferences.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days.
