Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Lightly spray a 9 1/2-inch pie pan with nonstick spray.
- Place the unbaked pie crust in the pan, pressing the dough firmly against the sides.
- In a mixing bowl, beat together the sugar, eggs, nutmeg, and vanilla until well combined.
- Slowly add the milk, whisking until smooth.
- Pour this mixture into the prepared pie shell.
- Sprinkle the remaining nutmeg lightly over the custard.
- Bake for approximately 45 minutes or until set, covering edges with foil if they brown too much.
- The pie is done when the center is slightly jiggly and a knife inserted comes out clean.
- Chill the pie in the refrigerator before serving for best taste.
