Preparation
- In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
- While the oil heats, slice your strawberries into bite-size pieces and set them aside.
- In a bowl, mix the ground cinnamon and sugar, and set this sweet mixture aside.
Cooking
- Once the oil is hot, carefully lay a tortilla in the oil. Fry it for about one minute on one side.
- Using tongs, gently fold the tortilla in half, shaping it like a taco. Keep frying until both sides are golden brown.
- Remove the crispy tortillas and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb any extra oil.
- While they are still warm, toss each shell in the cinnamon-sugar blend until fully coated.
- Once the tacos are cool enough to handle, fill them generously with whipped cream and top with strawberries or your fruit of choice.
Notes
Best served fresh. Store any filled tacos in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within a day for the best texture. Fried tortillas can be frozen for longer storage.
