Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 20 pieces soft caramels Feel free to use Werther’s Originals for a more buttery flavor.
  • 40 pieces mini pretzel twists These provide a perfect crunchy base.
  • 40 pieces pecan halves Optional, but they add a wonderful nutty flavor.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use dark, milk, or white chocolate depending on your preference.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut each caramel into halves to ensure they melt evenly and fit on the pretzels.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  4. Arrange the mini pretzels on the baking sheet and place a piece of caramel on each one.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 3-5 minutes, watching closely until the caramel is just melted.
  6. Once melted, take the baking sheet out and gently press a pecan half onto each melted caramel.
Chocolate Drizzle
  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 15-second intervals, stirring well after each time until fully melted and smooth.
  2. Drizzle the melted chocolate generously over the pretzels, covering the caramel and pecan.
  3. Allow the Chocolate Turtles to cool and harden before serving.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week or freeze for up to three months. Consider adding sea salt on top of the chocolate before it hardens for an extra flavor boost.
