  • 1 can (15 oz) pure pumpkin Fresh pumpkin can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice Adds warmth and flavor to the muffins.
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips Plus extra for topping.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Line a 12-cup muffin pan with your favorite liners to prevent sticking.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix and pumpkin pie spice.
  4. Add pure pumpkin to the mix and stir until well blended.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed in the batter.
  6. Scoop the batter evenly into the lined muffin cups, and sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top.
Baking
  1. Bake on the middle rack for 20–25 minutes. They'll be done when a toothpick inserted into a muffin comes out clean.
