Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, water, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before serving.

Notes
Serve plain or with powdered sugar, whipped cream, chocolate frosting, or fresh berries. To store, cover with plastic wrap or foil. Keeps at room temperature for a couple of days, up to a week in the fridge, or can be frozen.
