Ingredients

Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Melted
  • 2 cups granulated sugar Can be substituted with brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs At room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with almond flour for gluten-free
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Add-ins
  • 1 cup chocolate chips You can use different types of chocolate

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter. Stir in the granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and well-combined.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Follow with the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Mix until everything is just combined—don’t overdo it!
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
Baking
  1. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, ensuring there's adequate space between each cookie.
  2. Bake in your preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the tops appear crackly and the cookies are set.
  3. Let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
