- In a large skillet, heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak to the pan and cook for 5-6 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from skillet and place on a plate.
- Add 1 tbsp vegetable oil to the skillet. Add the chopped peppers and onions and cook for 3-4 minutes or until tender.
- Return the cooked steak back into the skillet.
- Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, combine minced garlic, black pepper, minced ginger, brown sugar, soy sauce, beef broth, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Stir until well combined.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet. Bring to a simmer and cook for 4-5 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.
- Serve the Chinese Pepper Steak hot over rice and garnish with sesame seeds if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
This dish is best served immediately over rice to enjoy its tender and flavorful components. You can adjust the spiciness by adding more or less black pepper according to your taste preferences. Feel free to customize the vegetables by adding mushrooms, snap peas, or carrots for extra flavor and nutrition.
