  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 pound pasta (penne or rotini)

  • to taste Pepper
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional) Use to garnish before serving.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions, drain and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, mix the cooked chicken, marinara sauce, cooked pasta, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

Assembly

  • Spread half of the mixture in a greased baking dish.
  • Layer with half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Pour the remaining chicken mixture on top, followed by the rest of the cheese.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add vegetables like spinach or mushrooms to the chicken mixture. You can also use rotisserie chicken for quicker prep time and adjust the amount of cheese based on your preference. A vegetarian version can be made by using sautéed vegetables and plant-based cheese.
