Ingredients
  

For the steak
  • 3 medium cube steaks (cut into 4 pieces each) Use tender cuts suitable for frying.
  • cup buttermilk Helps tenderize the meat.
  • 1 large egg For the egg mixture.
  • 1 ½ teaspoons hot sauce Add a bit of heat.
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (divided) Used for dredging.
  • 2 teaspoons Slap Ya Mama® seasoning Flavorful spice blend.
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt Enhances the overall taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red peppers For a bit of spice.
  • 1-2 cups vegetable oil (for frying) Heat to 375°F for best results.
For assembly
  • 12 pieces Hawaiian sweet rolls Soft and sweet rolls for sliders.
  • to taste your favorite gravy Drizzle over sliders before serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Heat the oil in an electric skillet or a large cast iron skillet to about 375°F.
  2. Cut each cube steak into four pieces and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb excess liquid.
  3. Cover the steaks with another paper towel and press down gently.
  4. In a shallow bowl, place half the flour. In another shallow bowl, combine the remaining flour with all spices and seasonings. Mix well.
  5. In a third shallow bowl, whisk the egg, hot sauce, and buttermilk together until smooth.
Cooking
  1. Once the oil is ready, pat the cube steak pieces dry again and coat each piece in the plain flour.
  2. Dip the floured steak in the egg mixture, then back into the seasoned flour, ensuring they are well coated.
  3. Carefully place the breaded steaks into the hot skillet and fry for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  4. Remove the cooked pieces and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. Repeat the process with the remaining cube steak. For optimal results, coat the steaks just before frying.
Assembly
  1. Assemble the sliders on Hawaiian rolls and drizzle with your favorite country gravy before serving.

Notes
