Ingredients
  

For the Sliders
  • 1 package tray buns
  • 8-10 pieces chicken fingers, cut in half horizontally If raw, precook according to package instructions.
  • 1/2 cup butter Melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • a pinch dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or minced garlic
  • 12 slices deli ham Can be substituted with turkey.
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese Can be substituted with cheddar.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If the chicken fingers are raw, precook them according to the package instructions.
  3. Slice the tray buns in half horizontally, creating a top and bottom layer.
  4. In a bowl, mix the melted butter, parsley, thyme, and garlic together.
  5. Dab the butter mixture on top of the chicken fingers to enhance the flavor before baking, and brush some on the surface of the bottom tray buns.
  6. Lay the cooked chicken fingers on the bottom layer of the tray buns.
  7. Add 4 slices of Swiss cheese to cover the chicken.
  8. Layer the deli ham slices over the cheese, then top with the remaining cheese slices.
  9. Place the top of the tray buns back on.
  10. Using the rest of the butter mixture, brush the tops of the buns.
  11. Roast in the oven for 15-20 minutes until the tops are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  12. Allow the sliders to rest for a few minutes after removing them from the oven, as the cheese will be very hot.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat in the oven at a low temperature to maintain bun crispiness. For freezing, wrap individual sliders and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to a month.
