Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, garlic salt, and pepper.
- Cut the butter into the dry ingredients using a fork or pastry blender until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually stir in the milk and mix with a fork until a dough forms.
- Lightly flour a work surface. Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick and cut into roughly 2"x2" squares.
- Place the dumplings on a floured plate, dusting flour between layers.
Cooking
- Bring the chicken broth to a boil. Drop the dumplings in gradually while stirring gently.
- Allow to cook for about 15-20 minutes or until they are not doughy anymore.
- Add the cooked chicken to the pot with more garlic salt and pepper. Let it cook for a final five minutes.
- Serve the dish warm in large bowls.
