Ingredients
  

For the garlic butter spread

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

For the cheese topping

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish) For garnish

For the base

  • 6 slices thick-cut Texas toast bread

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, dried oregano, and dried parsley until well combined.
  • Spread a generous amount of the garlic butter mixture on one side of each slice of bread, making sure to coat the edges as well.

Baking

  • Place the buttered slices on the prepared baking sheet, buttered side up.
  • Sprinkle an even layer of mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan cheese over each slice.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  • Serve warm. For extra crispiness, you can broil for the last 1-2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.

Notes

Cheesy Texas Toast is best served warm right out of the oven. Pair it with your favorite soups or salads. For a twist, serve it alongside marinara sauce for dipping. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
