Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 can crescent roll dough (8 ounce can)
  • 8 pieces beef hot dogs
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese, cut into strips
  • 1 egg beaten (optional, for egg wash)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  4. Cut each triangle into smaller strips or halves, depending on the size of your sausages.
  5. Place a strip of cheese on each piece of dough.
  6. Place a sausage at the wider end of the dough and roll it up snugly, making sure the cheese is tucked inside.
Baking
  1. Brush the top of each roll with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or bagel seasoning for extra flavor.
  2. Arrange the pigs in a blanket on the prepared baking sheet, seam-side down.
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Let cool slightly and serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces like honey mustard, ketchup, or ranch.

Notes

Cheesy Pigs In A Blanket are best served warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave to keep the dough soft. Experiment with different cheeses and add herbs or spices for extra flavor. For a lighter version, try mini sausages or veggie options.
