Main Ingredients
  • 4 cups potatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced Use pre-cooked ham for convenience.
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Divided into two portions.
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
  • 1 cup milk
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Optional for topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced potatoes, chopped onion, diced ham, half of the shredded cheese, cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining shredded cheese on top and add breadcrumbs if desired.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes
