Preparation
- Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise. Place each half, cut side up, on a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Stir together the softened butter, minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped parsley. Spread the mixture evenly on each half of the French bread loaf.
- In a small bowl, combine the cheeses and then sprinkle them evenly on top of the bread. Sprinkle the remaining parsley evenly over the cheeses.
Baking
- Bake in a 350-degree oven for 10 minutes.
- Turn on the broiler to high, move the rack to the top position, and broil for the last 2-3 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Allow the bread to cool and the cheese to set for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh ingredients like garlic, butter, and herbs. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses and adjust garlic according to your taste. For a spicy version, add red pepper flakes to the butter mixture. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge or frozen for future enjoyment.
