Ingredients
  

For the Garlic Spread

  • 1 loaf French bread Sliced in half lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup butter Softened for easy spreading
  • 5 cloves garlic Minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley Divided, with one tablespoon for the spread and one for garnish

For the Cheese Topping

  • 1 cup fresh grated Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and place each half cut side up on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  • In a bowl, stir together the softened butter, minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped parsley.
  • Spread the butter mixture evenly on each half of the French bread.

Topping and Baking

  • In a small bowl, combine the cheeses and sprinkle them evenly on top of the bread.
  • Sprinkle the remaining parsley over the cheeses.
  • Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 10 minutes.
  • Then turn on the broiler to high, move the rack to the top position, and broil for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.

Serving

  • Allow the bread to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Cheesy garlic bread is best served warm. Cut into strips or squares for easy sharing. Pair with marinara sauce for dipping or enjoy on its own. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
