Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1/2 cup butter (softened) Make sure your butter is softened for easy spreading.
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (divided)
  • 5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup fresh grated Mozzarella cheese Layering different types of cheese can enhance flavor.
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup fresh grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

Preparation

  • Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise. Place each half, cut side up, on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  • Stir together the softened butter, minced garlic, and 1 tablespoon of fresh chopped parsley. Spread the mixture evenly on each half of the French bread loaf.
  • In a small bowl, combine the cheeses and then sprinkle them evenly on top of the bread. Sprinkle the remaining parsley evenly over the cheeses.

Baking

  • Bake in a 350-degree oven for 10 minutes.
  • Turn on the broiler to high, move the rack to the top position, and broil for the last 2-3 minutes until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
  • Allow the bread to cool and the cheese to set for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Cheesy garlic bread is best served warm. Cut into strips or squares for easy sharing. Pair it with marinara sauce for dipping, or enjoy it on its own. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, pop it back in the oven or microwave until warmed through.
