For the potato layer
  • 6 medium potatoes, peeled and sliced
For the cheesy sauce
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 tablespoons butter

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to the specified temperature and prepare your baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in the baking dish.
  4. Parboil the sliced potatoes until slightly tender.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Layer the sliced potatoes over the meatloaf in the baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter, add milk, and stir in grated cheddar cheese until smooth.
  3. Pour the cheesy sauce over the potatoes, ensuring even distribution.
  4. Cover the dish with foil and bake until the meatloaf is cooked through and the potatoes are tender.
  5. Remove the foil, sprinkle extra cheese on top, and bake until golden and bubbly.
