  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Holds everything together.
  • 1 cup Brown sugar Adds sweetness and rich flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda For lightness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt Essential for balancing sweetness.
  • 1/2 cup Butter For melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
For the Filling
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips Semi-sweet, dark, or milk—choose your favorite.
  • 1 cup Caramel sauce Store-bought is easy, but homemade is delightful.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Work the butter into the dry mix until crumbly.
  4. Press half the crumb mixture into the bottom of your baking dish.
  5. Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the crust.
  6. Pour caramel sauce over the chocolate chips.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the caramel layer.
Baking
  1. Place in the oven for about 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Let it cool before cutting into squares to allow the caramel to set a bit.
