Ingredients
  

For the dip
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon chopped chives
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh dill

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium-low heat, melt the butter.
  2. Add the diced onion, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook slowly and stir often for about 15-20 minutes until the onions become golden brown and soft. Allow them to cool.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with sour cream until it’s nice and smooth.
  5. Stir in the garlic powder, cooled caramelized onions, chives, parsley, and dill.
  6. Chill the dip for at least 20 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
