- In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, maple syrup, and black pepper (if using). Mix until well blended.
- Lay the bacon strips on the baking sheet. Ensure they aren’t overlapping for even cooking.
- Generously brush the sugar mixture onto the bacon, coating each strip thoroughly.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the bacon is caramelized and crispy, turning once halfway through for an even glaze.
- Remove from the oven and allow the bacon to cool; it will crisp up even more as it sets.
