  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes Ribeye is preferred for tenderness and flavor.
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh shrimp adds delightful texture; frozen works too.
  • 2 tbsp Cajun seasoning, divided Can be store-bought or homemade.
  • 3 tbsp olive oil, divided Essential for searing.
  • 2 tbsp butter Adds richness to the dish.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Infuses the dish with aroma.
  • 1 red bell pepper diced Adds color and sweetness.
  • 1 yellow onion sliced Enhances depth of flavor.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Enhances natural flavors.
  • 1 bunch fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) Adds freshness.
  • Lemon wedges (for serving) Enhances flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pat the steak cubes and shrimp dry with paper towels.
  2. Season the steak with 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning, plus salt and pepper.
  3. Season the shrimp with the remaining Cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt.
  4. Mince the garlic, dice the red bell pepper, and slice the yellow onion so everything’s ready to move fast at the stove.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet or cast-iron pan over medium-high heat until very hot. Add 1½ tablespoons olive oil.
  2. Add steak cubes in a single layer without crowding. Sear 1–2 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove steak to a plate and let rest briefly.
  3. Reduce heat to medium, add the remaining olive oil to the pan. Add sliced onion and diced red pepper. Sauté 3–4 minutes until softened.
  4. Push vegetables to the side, add butter and minced garlic to the pan. Stir garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook 1–2 minutes per side until opaque and pink.
  6. Return the steak to the pan, toss everything together, and cook 30–60 seconds to meld flavors.
  7. Turn off heat, sprinkle chopped parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes
