Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for a healthier option.
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium head cabbage, chopped
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Optional Ingredients
  • carrots, chopped For extra texture and flavor.
  • celery, chopped Add for added flavor.
  • fresh herbs (like thyme or bay leaves) Can enhance flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large pot, over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until it’s nicely browned. Don’t forget to drain any excess fat after.
  2. Toss in the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion turns translucent—this usually takes about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped cabbage, beef broth, diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper (along with any optional veggies or herbs). Mix everything well.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat. Allow it to simmer for about 30 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Ladle into bowls, serve, and enjoy this heartwarming dish!

Notes

For extra flavor, consider sautéing the garlic and onions in beef tallow or olive oil. Serve with crusty bread or a green salad for a complete meal. Can be topped with shredded cheese for added indulgence.
