Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are nicely browned.
- Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream on top.
