  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure butter is at room temperature.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Feel free to substitute with other chips or dried fruits.
  • as needed Ice cream of choice Pair with your favorite flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl; stir into the creamed mixture until just blended.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are nicely browned.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream on top.
  2. Drizzle with chocolate sauce or sprinkle nuts if desired.
