Method
- In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the blueberries, 1/4 cup of water, orange juice, and sugar. Stir gently and bring to a boil.
- In a cup or small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and 1/4 cup cold water. Gently stir the cornstarch mixture into the blueberries to avoid mashing the berries.
- Simmer gently until the mixture thickens enough to coat the back of a metal spoon, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the almond extract and cinnamon.
- If the sauce is too thick for your liking, you can thin it out with a little water.
- Your delicious Blueberry Sauce is ready to be served! You can enjoy it over pancakes, waffles, ice cream, or any other dessert of your choice.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen blueberries for this sauce, depending on availability.
- Be careful not to mash the blueberries when stirring in the cornstarch mixture.
- Adjust the thickness of the sauce by adding water if needed to achieve the desired consistency.
