  • 4 cups chicken, cooked and shredded or sliced Make sure to use cooked and cooled chicken for the best texture.
  • 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled Feel free to substitute with turkey bacon for a healthier option.
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced You can add extra tomatoes for crunch.
  • 1/2 cup celery, diced Optional, can be omitted.
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup green onion, thinly sliced

Dressing ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (or sour cream) You can use your favorite type of mayonnaise or a mixture with yogurt.
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chives
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix together the chicken, bacon, tomatoes, celery, red onions, and green onions.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the mayonnaise, vinegar, parsley, dill, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix the salad with the dressing until well combined and enjoy. This salad is best served with or in lettuce!

Notes

Store any leftover chicken salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for about 3 to 4 days. It's best not to freeze as the texture may change.
