- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Whisk in the cocoa powder and flour until the mixture is well combined and starts to bubble from the heat.
- Gradually whisk in the sugar until thoroughly combined.
- Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Continue cooking over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens to a gravy consistency.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- Spoon the chocolate gravy over freshly baked biscuits.
Notes
This Chocolate Gravy is best served immediately over warm biscuits. Leftover gravy can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated before serving.
