Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Whisk in the cocoa powder and flour until the mixture is well combined and starts to bubble from the heat.
  • Gradually whisk in the sugar until thoroughly combined.
  • Slowly pour in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps from forming. Continue cooking over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens to a gravy consistency.
  • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  • Spoon the chocolate gravy over freshly baked biscuits.

Notes

This Chocolate Gravy is best served immediately over warm biscuits. Leftover gravy can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days and reheated before serving.
