Ingredients
  

For the Beef:
  • 1 lb ground beef 90/10
For the Salad:
  • 1 head of iceberg lettuce
  • 2 roma tomatoes diced
  • 12 pickles diced (add more if desired)
  • 1/2 cup red onion diced
For Dressing:
  • 1 bottle thousand island dressing

Equipment

  • Saute pan
  • Large Bowl
  • Salad tongs

Method
 

Cooking Ground Beef:
  1. Place ground beef into a sauté pan and cook until meat is browned.
  2. Drain grease from the cooked ground beef.
Preparing Salad Base:
  1. Wash and chop iceberg lettuce. Place into a large bowl.
  2. Dice the tomatoes and add them to the bowl of lettuce. Toss to combine.
  3. Dice the pickles, looking for thicker slices, and add them to the bowl.
  4. Chop the red onion and add it to the bowl as well.
Assembling Salad:
  1. Add the cooked ground beef to the bowl and toss everything together using salad tongs.
Serving:
  1. Serve the salad topped with thousand island dressing.
  2. Optional: Top with a sprinkle of sesame seeds and/or shredded cheese for added flavor and texture.
