  • - ½ cup butter
  • - 1 cup white sugar
  • - 2 eggs
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • - ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • - ¼ teaspoon salt
  • - ¼ teaspoon baking powder
  • Frosting:
  • - 3 tablespoons butter softened
  • - 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • - 1 tablespoon honey
  • - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - 1 cup confectioners' sugar

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.
  • In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake until top is dry and edges start to pull away from the pan, about 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool briefly.
  • For the frosting:
  • Combine softened butter, confectioners' sugar, 3 tablespoons cocoa, honey, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in a bowl.
  • Stir until smooth, then frost brownies while still warm.
