Ingredients

For the Beef
  • 1 lb Beef steak (cut into bite-sized pieces)
For the Vegetables
  • 1 medium Onion (sliced)
  • 2 stalks Celery (sliced)
  • 2 medium Carrots (sliced)
  • 1 cup Mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1 cup Snow peas
  • 1 cup Water chestnuts (sliced)
For the Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 clove Garlic (minced)
  • 1 inch Ginger (minced)
For Cooking
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil

Method

Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the beef and cook until it’s nicely browned.
  3. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.
Stir-Frying the Vegetables
  1. In the same skillet, toss in the onion, celery, carrots, mushrooms, and snow peas. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  2. Add the water chestnuts, garlic, and ginger, stir-frying for another 2 minutes.
Combining Ingredients
  1. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, cornstarch, and a splash of water to create a smooth sauce.
  2. Bring the beef back to the skillet, pour the sauce over everything, and stir well to combine.
  3. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce has thickened.
  4. Serve hot over a bed of rice or noodles.
