Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk Room temperature
  • 1/2 cup jam or Nutella For filling
  • Chocolate cream For frosting

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt) until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter with eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  5. Fill each muffin cup halfway with batter, add a generous teaspoon of jam or Nutella in the center, then cover with more batter until cups are about three-quarters full.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting with chocolate cream.
  8. Decorate as desired to fit the Halloween theme!
