Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt) until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, mix the melted butter with eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until the mixture is smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Fill each muffin cup halfway with batter, add a generous teaspoon of jam or Nutella in the center, then cover with more batter until cups are about three-quarters full.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting with chocolate cream.
- Decorate as desired to fit the Halloween theme!
