Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 1.5 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas) Use very ripe bananas for the sweetest flavor.
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour You can substitute some with whole wheat flour for a nuttier flavor.
  • 2.5 tsp instant yeast Ensure yeast is fresh for proper rising.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas with instant yeast. Mix them well to activate the yeast.
  2. Gradually introduce the all-purpose flour, stirring until a soft dough starts to form.
  3. Dust your work surface with flour and knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area until it doubles in size—approximately 1-2 hours.
  5. After the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  6. Cut the rolled-out dough into rolls and place them snugly in a greased baking dish.
  7. Cover the rolls and let them rise again for about 30 minutes before baking.
  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden brown.
