Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 ounces wheel of Brie cheese
  • 1/4 cup fig preserves
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or pecans (optional) Can substitute with pistachios or almonds.
  • 1 sprig Fresh rosemary or thyme for garnish (optional)
  • as needed servings Crackers or sliced baguette for serving

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Roll it out gently if it's not large enough.
  3. Place the Brie in the center of the pastry. Spread fig preserves on top and drizzle with honey. Sprinkle nuts if using.
Baking
  1. Fold the pastry edges over the Brie, sealing it completely. Use excess pastry to create decorative designs.
  2. Brush the pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  3. Bake on the prepared baking sheet for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Serving
  1. Remove from oven and let sit for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
  2. Serve warm with crackers or slices of baguette.
