  • 6 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup sweet onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups fresh tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (e.g., cheddar or Monterey Jack)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (e.g., basil or thyme) for garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until they are soft and translucent.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, eggs, salt, and pepper.
Assembly
  1. Layer the crumbled bacon, cooked onions, and sliced tomatoes in the pre-baked pie crust.
  2. Pour the cream and egg mixture over the layered ingredients.
  3. Sprinkle the shredded cheese on top.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for about 30-35 minutes or until the filling is set and the top is golden.
