  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower) For a lighter option
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can be substituted with your preferred cheese
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crisped and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • Optional Burger toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles and any of your favorites

Method
 

Preparation and Cooking
  1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Stir in the ground beef, seasoning it with salt and pepper, while cooking until it’s browned.
  4. In a baking dish, layer the cooked rice evenly.
  5. Spoon the beef and onion mixture over the rice.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped bacon on top.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Serve with your favorite burger toppings for an extra burst of flavor!
