Ingredients

Meatloaf Mixture
  • 1 lb 90% lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried minced onion
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup ketchup for the mixture
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese optional, can be substituted
  • 8 slices bacon
Glaze
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp steak sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, dried minced onion, Worcestershire sauce, eggs, Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, and ketchup. Gently mix until the ingredients are well blended.
  2. Divide the mixture in half. Shape one half into a base layer. If you’re using cheddar cheese, sprinkle it over this base, then cover it with the remaining meat mixture. Form the entire mixture into a three-inch thick loaf.
  3. Lay out bacon strips over the loaf, tucking the ends underneath for a neat finish.
Cooking
  1. Transfer the meatloaf to an air fryer basket lined with nonstick foil. Air fry at 350°F for 40 minutes or bake in an oven at the same temperature for 60 minutes.
  2. While it cooks, mix ketchup, steak sauce, and brown sugar for your glaze. After your initial cook time, brush this glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  3. Return the meatloaf to the air fryer for another 5-10 minutes, or to the oven for 20-30 minutes, until the bacon is crisp and the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
Serving
  1. Allow the meatloaf to rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
