Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, flour, ground cinnamon, and salt. Toss until the apples are well coated.
- Pour in the water and mix thoroughly. Transfer the apple mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Stir until mixed.
- Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture turns crumbly.
- Sprinkle the crumbly topping evenly over the apple filling in the baking dish.
Baking
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Serving
- Serve warm, ideally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
