Ingredients
  

For the apple filling
  • 8 medium medium apples, peeled + chopped
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp salt
For the topping
  • ¾ cup flour
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ cup cold butter, cubed for a crumbly texture
  • 1 cup rolled oats

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the chopped apples with ½ cup of brown sugar, ¼ cup of flour, vanilla extract, 1 tsp of cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Pour this mixture into the greased baking dish.
Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix together ¾ cup of flour, ¾ cup of brown sugar, and 1 tsp of cinnamon.
  2. Cut in the cold cubed butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  3. Stir in the rolled oats, then spread this topping evenly over the apple filling.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  2. Let it cool for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
