Ingredients
  

  • 8 large Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar (to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2/3 cup melted butter

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Peel and slice the apples into 1/4 inch thick slices.
  • In a large mixing bowl, add the sliced apples and toss with 1/2 cup of sugar and ground cinnamon. Taste and adjust sugar as needed, especially if the apples are very tart.
  • Pour the coated apples into a 9×13 baking dish and set aside.
  • In a separate medium mixing bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and eggs until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Spread the crumb mixture evenly over the apples to cover them.
  • Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the crumb mixture.
  • Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
  • Allow the cobbler to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

This Apple Cobbler is best served warm, either on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can also add a sprinkle of oats or nuts to the topping for extra crunch and flavor. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
