Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spray an 8×8-inch baking dish with nonstick spray.
- In a bowl, mix the peeled and diced apples with the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg until evenly coated.
- Unroll the cinnamon roll dough and cut the rolls into ½-inch strips. On a floured surface, roll out each strip until fluffy and thin. Use flour as needed to prevent sticking.
Assembly and Baking
- Arrange the first layer of flattened cinnamon roll dough on the bottom and sides of the prepared baking dish.
- Spread half of the apple mixture over the dough and drizzle 2–3 tablespoons of caramel sauce on top.
- Cover with another layer of cinnamon roll dough strips and spread the remaining apple mixture and pour more caramel sauce on top.
- Cover with the remaining flattened cinnamon roll dough.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the aluminum foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
Cool and Serve
- Let the dish cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Drizzle the icing that comes with the cinnamon rolls over the top before slicing and serving.
Notes
