Ingredients
  

For the Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups peeled and chopped fresh apples Use a mix for more flavor.
  • 1 cup chopped pecans Can substitute with walnuts.
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup caramel sauce Warm before drizzling.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your favorite cake pan.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon; set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, allowing each to fully incorporate before adding the next. Then, stir in the vanilla.
  5. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, folding in the chopped apples and pecans until combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into your prepared cake pan and bake for 30-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool completely before drizzling it with warm caramel sauce.
